Ive had issues with parking sensors, turns out I needed a new radio. So ive had one fitted problem is its the new 2010 colour scheme which turns out to be a very dark grey rather than black which I have. Basically it looks daft against the black it really sticks out like a soar thumb and spells it out ive had issues. In the long run it will devalue my car.
Anyway this is what landrover have told me a) put up with it or b) theres a chance they can take the facia off my old radio and put it on my new radio however I will have no warranty on the unit or any other potential problems that could be related.
Its not great news for anybody out there that has the older pre 09 black interior in need of a radio so be warned.

tell them to make to colours match and keep the full warranty or even extend it for your inconvenience. the cant just randomly change the colour of your dash, they have to repair it to its as new colour. feckless idiots cnat put right a simple facia on new car and they wonder why people have to resort to buying those style less jap crap 4x4's At work

Couple of things to answer which I forgot. Yes im speaking to Landrover uk its out of the dealers hands as they only put in what is supplied.
Npinks The best way to describe the colour is black but with grey specks which in all makes the colour look like a charcoal grey. The interior I have is solid jet black - the door plastic being a mat black. Admitedly the new design does look a better colour to hide the dust however unfortunately it doesnt go hand in hand with the original whatsoever.
Its only fair to say that landrover customer services are being very helpful over the matter. They have sent me out a case of wine as a good will gesture- shame I cant drink it before I get in so I dont notice the radio.

Ps As it stands apart from my on going parking sensor issue (from new 2008) my FL2 has been very reliable. The new radio (all be it the wrong colour) has cured it. I honestly believe it gets about as well as my defender in any off-roading situation that doesnt require low range. However if I have to look at this radio until I sell it I will not by another LR just in spite even though I do believe they are the best in its class.
I do not make a habbit of getting bit on the arse twice - the next forum you guys will see me on is toyota.com.

I agree - the colour match is crap Somebody at LR need a good kick up the if you ask me  2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.

Yes bad match though, looks better on the picture than in reliality.

I went out earlier when you posted your photos and I can't tell if it's black or charcoal
