Land Rover's 'Product Enhancement Program' (sic)

A local Stealership has just sent me a letter entitled 'Product Enhancement Program', which is encouraging me to book a 'no cost to you' (i.e. me) check and update of various software. I'm aware, obviously, that the various ECUs can require updates to fix known problems, and that this will enable them to try to sell me other services.... But I'm a suspicious sort of person, and wonder if there is anything behind this. Are there some known problems that anyone has heard about which L-R are trying to remedy before they become public knowledge?

Anyone else receiving these? Is it all Kosher? Am I just Paranoid, or are they really out to get me?? Confused

All thoughts gratefully received!!

Scotland 2013 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Buckingham Blue

My local dealer was offering a 'health check' with each time in went in for recall work and I always declined as some other members who took it up found there was always something needing repaired.

Might be the same thing?
They do a software update and "oh sir while it was in ol Fred gave it the once over and the rear pads are worn' etc etc Confused

Not received a letter but even if you took it in you don't have to use them to do the work

just ask them for what's required in writting so your local indi can do it IF does need doing, if it doesn't then you have them by the gonads and report them to trading standards Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
