thanks waaxh03, then maybe it's continuous exposure to the detrimental effects of the weather that causes problems with the mechanism. |

Where abouts do you exactly spray? I take it, it's as far into the fold seam as you can get......or do you have to dismantle something? |

The spray can usually comes with a tube thingy, just point that into the join and spray. |

Welcome to the 'sqeaky/creaky seat base' club.... I've complained for the last 6 weeks and all they did was jetwash the seatbase and carpet in WD40. |

Too much washing and polishing or jet washing (incorrectly), will damage your car which should be quite obvious. These subjects have been covered in much detail in various earlier squeaky, frozen, non-functioning, rusted-up posts. 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

Sorry AndyC, I was being sarcastic about the jetwashing, I meant the inside of the car all around the seat base and carpets using WD40 lubricating oil in an attemp to stop the seat squeak. There was that much oil all over the carpet around the seat I'm guessing the stealers mechanic presumed it was the carpet that was squeaking - maybe I have a resident mouse |
