Electrical 'features' ?

This is my fourth day with my 2008 HST and it just keeps getting better. Its been 20yrs since i used to use Land & Range-Rovers to build radio towers in the middle of no-where and this car is reminding me of the 'good old days' <lol>. What a difference it is over the manual low-ratio / transfer boxes we had then.

Anyway, with all this new technology, what i find confusing is the amount and nature of the various electrical 'features' e.g. Using great advice from this group i have been able to disable the annoying seat-belt chime and set the elec door mirrors to auto-fold when locked ...but i have not been able to get the mirrors to auto-dip when going in reverse. Generally speaking, i imagine that with the mirrors just as many people would want to enable/disable the 'auto-fold' function as would want to enable/disable the 'auto-dip' function?

It seems that some 'features' can be set by the user ...but others need to be set by the dealer? How odd - why should Landrover consider that one feature should be generally available over others that are not? Its like the software programming & control side of things has not been carefully thought through.

...still a great car though :o)

i don't think the HST has auto dipping mirrors as its based on the SE, which didn't

They are normally park of the HSE memory seat function too

Easiest way to find out is select reverse and move mirror to required position and then select first or what ever if they move back then your good to go, if not you don't have them Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
