I recently had the 45k service done and since I have had it back, the ave. fuel consumption seems to have reduced by 4 MPG.

Interesting - just had 2nd service done and have noticed exactly the same - can't get above 35 on long run - previously saw 38 - 39 on same journey.

The MPG on a diesel engine will reduce when it has been serviced. It has something to do with fresh oil being added after the engine has been flushed. If you want good MPG then don't change your oil......
