I'm just about to finalise the purchase of my TD4 HSE and have been hit with the options of vehicle protection packages and extended warranty. I was initially considering window tinting, paint protection and leather protection however I have heard various opinions on these products and am now having second thoughts. Have also been quoted $2200 for extended 3 year warranty. Has anyone had any experience with any of these products and are they worth having.

I had negotiated me up to a (free) nano-protection of the body when I bought the car 18 months ago. It looks good still.

Dont go though the dealer. My uncle worked for LR as a mech. His mate that does the LR protection treatment packs, but after hours does cash jobs. Cost me $350 to do the paint protection, leather protection and tint. LR wanted over 2k. |

I have the 3M paint protection to the entire front end of the vehicle as well as the rear bumper, mirrors, and the area between the windscreen and sunroof. Love the stuff.

Paint & Fabric protection packages are perfectly fine so long as they are applied properly & the car is looked after properly by washing it properly with the aftercare pack & not through the auto-wash & definately not at a Supermarket or drive-in type place.

I have no problems with the paint protection product but you are being charged huge amounts of money for the application and IMHO more often than not it does not get put on properly leaving your car with swirls and worse paint than when it came out of the factory... If you are intent on doing something for your pain, by the stuff and DIY as mr Pinks said, or pay a proper detailer to do it for you, I can guaranty for the same money the car will look many times better and probably last far longer with a little maintanance.
