Freelander 2. Dreams come true! That's true!

Razz Dreams come true! That's true!

I Bow down down to all of you that can communicate in other langauges other than your native tongue, and not only that but do it extremely well.

Having lived in Cyprus for 3 years and The Netherlands for over 5 years now I can safely say that I am extremely bad at learning languages!!!!

I feel the English are at a real disadvantage just like the French and Germans in that movies and TV programs are almost always shown in the native tongue, for the Germans and French this means dubbing over the English. As proven with the Dutch, if programs are simply subtitled it appears you are more likely to pick up the language over time.

Again I Bow down to you all.

Snow (Winter) Tires/

Winter comes in several months and it means we need winter tires for our Freels. What type of winter tires can you recommend to winter-town-driving in Russia. Of course, this question is more actual for northern countries.
Specialists say the more preferable tires for Freel2 - Yokohama G072 and Michelin X-Ice North. What do you think about it?

Thanks in advance/Заранее спасибо. Dreams come true! That's true!

Quality winter tyres

Alexandrina:
do yourself and others the favour and keep your fingers off Korean tyres. Except Bridgestone even the Japanese Tyres are not comparable with European Tyres.
In Germany seasonal summer and winter tyre tests are conducted bi-annually, and only 3 Winter Tyres are really outstanding: Dunlop Winter Sport 3D (for SUV's DWS M2 or M3), Goodyear Ultra Grip UG 7, and Continental Winter Contact 790. Winter tyres have one great disadvantage: the breaking (stopping) distance increases. All three mentioned winter tyres have a normal breaking ability besides excellent aquaplaning reserves. And in the winter you do not need tyres with a speed
indicator of "H" (up to 210 km/h) or "V" (up to 240 km/h). Tyres with a speed indicator of "T" (up to 190 km/h) will be more than sufficient in the winter.

Greetings from Germany
Yamaha-Fan

Q = max. 160 km/h.
The allowable speed of the tyres should exceed the max. speed of the car. Even if you don't drive that fast it is not allowed to have tyres fitted with a lower speed index. In case of an accident your insurance company may refuse to accept any claim.

For more information on tyres (if you can read German): http://www.conti-online.com/generator/www/...005_de.pdf Idea

Rob VW Tiguan or Freelander 2 that's the question...

Re: Quality winter tyres

Nokian (Finland) makes tires in this size - they are called "WR SUV" in the USA,
They are advertized as all-season/winter tires. They got good reviews from a few people, and I will put them soon on my other car (Volvo).
The brand (nokian) is not well-known in the USA.
My FL2 (LR2 in the US) came with Continental Cross contact on 18 inch rims, and this tires ( Continentals ) look like they would be OK for our winter whiuch is very mild comparing to Moscow winters.

PS
Interesting, I got mine as a birthday present to myself as well
