colour coded door handles

I'm told (by Mat in France - thanks) that it's a faily easy job to change all the door handles to be colour coded with the car, Disco 3 are the same I think he said. Is this a kit from LR. I've seen stick on aftermarket but they look naff. Oh and where would you recommend I get a spoiler for above the rear window is this also LR only? Question

Hi Andy! Good to meet you last week in France. I take it your still sunning yourself! We got back on Saturday evening and back to work today.

All the colour coded door handle kits are listed in the new 2010 Freelander 2 accesories brochure. Not seen it in the flesh yet but the brochure is on line at www.landrover.co.uk

When I did mine last year, the kits were only listed for Discovery 3, not LR have them listed for FL2. But as CG has said, you fit them without removing the interior door cards and will take no more than about 20 minutes to do the whole kit.

Regarding the spoiler, as said they come up from time to time on ebay but I think they are about £130ish + VAT from LR dealers. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

Got back into Hull Sunday morning (Still to sunshine). Ordered the silver indicator bulbs, the best Xenon lookalikes I could find from Phillips Xtreme for the headlights plus the clear side repeaters (£14 with free silver bulbs !). Colour coded handles are £102.88 inc vat supply only, £309 fitted (they say you have to remove the door cards - obviously trying it on). Rear spoiler is £174.00 unpainted inc fit kit + vat. (£399 supply, paint, fit).
My independent financial advisor says were going down the privacy glass route first, then the door handles -(oh she who must be obeyed).
It's all your fault ! what have you started....
Regards
Andy

If you contact Nick Lee at Yeovil LandRover he will sort all your parts out with a forum discount

The only problem is the painting of the spoiler, which i think he would prefer not to do, but still ask Thumbs Up

I have a telephone number somewhere for a mobile spray chap who quoted around £50 to spray one, when i was looking, but never got round to doing it

His name was Barry Teale, The Spray Machine (or the spray man), and he is based in Whitkirk LS15 Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Andy, you 100% dont have to remove the door cards. I am sure there is a how to on here.

Regarding the spoiler, getting a dealer far away to paint it and ship it is not an issue regarding colour as there is aparently only one shade of Stornaway grey so the colour should be perfect. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Solved the torx screw it's the same size as a tool supplied with a Ryobi Petrol hedge trimmer Laughing

Quite fiddly getting the end caps off as I don't think my screw driver was small enough Wink

Thanks to McP guide to changing them Bow down

Went to a landrover specialist and asked if he could fit my colour coded door handles cos I was being lazy. He started saying he would have to take the door cards off Rolling Eyes I then proceeded to tell him its just a case of tugging and pulling. He then told me it would take one and half hours labour to fit them Laughing So with that I got in the car went home. 20 mins later it was done. Won't be going there anymore Censored useless. Guess I'm more of a specialist than them Rolling with laughter Many thanks to mcpherson and pa51 for there very helpfull info Bow down Thumbs Up
