2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Zermatt Silver
Add a towbar

How do you go about this? Is it a DIY thing? A dealer only thing? Or best done at an independant?

Any idea of cost? Tips? New: Freelander2 GS 62 plate (MY13) - Santorini Black with Clearview & Front PDC
Old: Freelander2 XS 09 Plate - Zermatt Silver with ST3 remap (eco map), Garmin 1490T Sat Nav, Rear Seat Entertainment kit

It can be DIY fitted if you know what your doing but I think the car needs to have a trip to the dealers for the electrics to be activated fir things like turning off parking sensors etc

I have a series of photos at the office if you PM me a email address I pop them across to you

search for the HST towbar threads they are quite helpful

TBH I will get a garage to do mine when the new car comes as I ain't the skill and when towing 1500kg I want it to be right

Avtur has a towbar for sale Inc electrics, if it's a little dirty I was only quoted £20 to have mine repowder coated Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I've just had a witter detachable with the dedicated single 13pin electrics fitted for £370, then LR charged me £40 for activating everything. It would have cost me nearly as much to buy the part and fit it myself.

I was quoted for the non dedicated elcetrics it would have been about £60 cheaper fitted and I wouldn't have needed to got to LR.

Like npinks says they turn the parking sensors off, fog light and something else when the electrics are plugged in. You also get a light on the dash when you indicate to say the trailer/caravan is working as well.
