Here in USA/Canada we have the toughest time getting off road tires for our LR2. I urge each of our North America members to contact by e-mail, Continental,Michelin, Goodyear, Firestone,etc... and ask them to produce a good A/T tire in a 235/55/19 size. I've already sent my e-mail letting the company that we are using our LR2 for more than going to Sunday brunch.

Are low profile tyres suitable for off-road? I'd have thought they were more your typical stiff, inflexible, road use tyres. You want big ol' flexible 17" balloon tyres for off road, surely? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Steve's right - something higher profile would be better for off-road use. The higer sidewall will allow the tyre to mould to the terrain better, giving better grip and also better protection to the rim. It's why off-road tyres generally aren't available in low profiles. (Although I wouldn't exactly call a 17" 65-series tyre a balloon - those are more what you'd find on Icelandic 'super-jeeps'. )
