Hi all, just bought myself a 2011 Freelander 2 HSE (Automatic) to replace my old 2009 model. Yesterday my key worked fine, today all the buttons work except the unlock button. I'm presuming the battery is ok as all the other functions appear to be fine. The key was very recently bought by the ex owner and is not a factory one. Any ideas? |

It’s probably the button on the circuit board. The unlock button is probably the one that is used the most. |

Thanks for the replies! I do have a spare fob and that one works perfectly, thankfully. The internals of the fobs are original but the last owner had new cases put on them. I'm beginning to think that yes, it must be the button that is faulty. Question is, can it be repaired, is it worth opening the cover to have a look bearing in mind I'm not sure what to look for anyway? |

What year is your FL2 if the cases have been changed then it must be the later type ? if so you could try spraying the circuit board with contact cleaner. 2013 FL2 XS.
