Another oil question.

Have been reading up on oils for MY14 2.2 diesel NON dpf.
Ford specs are WSS M2C913C or D. Thats the old C1 or A5/B5 in the new oils.
Seeing that mine isnt a stop/start vehicle, was wondering whether a A3/B4 oil would be more suitable as I do mostly highway driving anywhere from 60k's up to 100+k's every couple of days.
Your input would be greatly appreciated from the mechanics on this forum.

cheers

You should have a DPF on your MY so do not use anything other than a C1 otherwise you Censored the DPF. 2013 FL2 XS.

In that case A5/B5 should be ok these are long service interval oils but no harm in changing them early. 2013 FL2 XS.

Fully agree Rommel…à good quality A5/B5 would do great, as would a good A4/B4….
Relevant for me because FL2 will be due service soon & I have nearly used all my stock oil…I bought a 205l drum of oil when I retired from motor trade….good price in 2017…..so have looked at oils now.
The FL2 SD4 DPF has used Shell Ultra ECT C3…..changed twice a year when annual mileage was higher.
Recommended spec: Ford WSS-M2C934-B or JLR 03.5005…..looked on this site for AMZ oils…..Shell now
£40/5L……! Other C1 oils similar prices …I clicked on link to similar oils …Smith & Alan looked reasonable but some of the other oils flashed-up “This doesn’t fit”…..à bit bizzare…..I had a look at Mannol oils….a vast range….brand not know here but according to a friend who works at VW à top brand in Germany….
I found the Mannol 7908-20L oil was to spec ……Ford 934-A & B also JLR…..it’s a 5w-30 C2/3…..£2.80/Ltr.
AMZ says it doesn’t fit…….! A lot of the oils it suggests are for non DPF…..M2C913C spec…..
Rommel, you said use C1 or else but all the oils marked C ….C1–C5 are low SAPS…..C1 is the lowest but C2/3 are perfectly ok for DPF /EGR……………like the Shell Ultra ECT C3 I have been using for 150K mls.
I find it strange that lots of oils marked 5w-30 for example have different viscosity….when you consult the full spec sheet………..lots of hype I think. FL2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto MY 2012— current
D2 TD5 HSE Man MY 1999 470kmls….gone 2014 ….lovely engine..chassis rotten
D1 300TDI Man MY 1996 56kmls….gone 1999…D2 much better
Wife’s FL1 1.8P MY 2001 32kmls …gone 2007…has Mini since.
