I pay monthly VED for my TD4 what I am going to do is cancel the DD in Feb then pay a years VED 1st March that way I will miss the hike  2013 FL2 XS.

I think the road tax is going to kill off a lot of old cars that would of served well for several more years yet. I saw on that high peaks on YouTube an old A6 Audi he had but the tax was over £700

I was once told insurance companies rule of thumb is , if repairs are more then 60% of their book value of the car it’s a write off. With labour costs , parts and hire car I bet that 60% is soon reached
