New landrover in my life

Hi everyone, First post
Two landrovers in my life
First since 1998 series 3 1972 (old girl) second since 13 weeks freelander 2 2014 ( young girl)
Old girl was blessed with a galvanised chassis before my ownership, and I love her
Young girl getting involved, changed engine oil, filter, gearbox oil changed, air filter checked.
Young girl is so quick.
Only fault so far was the high level brake light leaking water,
My freelander is 10 years, I know will need 10 year service.
Next job rear axel (final drive) am going to install drain plug as pictured described..on this site
Thank you Steven (beaven) Very Happy

Welcome
I hope you find this forum as useful as I have. On my 3rd FL2. Many Landrovers before them too.

I sold my S3 last year

The seal around the high break light is notorious for leaking but a new slightly thicker seal is about a fiver or so on eBay a little Vaseline on it before fitting helps and itโ€™s a quick easy job.

To avoid water ingress on mine before it would eventually happen, this Summer, I looked at the thicker seals on th fleabay. It said buy two and double them up. I did, but they are already thick, so no way I could install two of the, One is enough and it will last a good few years, probably one or two decades.

Just sayin'.
Redfox.
