United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Zermatt Silver
Rear brake pad slider clips

I replaced the rear discs, calipers, carriers and pads today on our 2009 Freelander: something I have done many times before. What I noticed this time is that the spring clips that clip to the carrier for the pads to slide in have very little clearance either side of the disc. The old ones, which were too badly corroded to reuse, left a bigger gaps either side of the disc and did not overhang from the carrier bracket. The clips came with genuine Land Rover pads.

Can anyone shed any light on this. Freelander 2 TD4 HSE 2010

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Firenze Red

Ive just replaced my rear pads (SD4 2014 / EPB) with Brembo ones.

The spring clips were way too wide and wouldn't fit onto the carrier. I wondered if they were for the wider ventilated rear disks as found on the I6, but I rechecked the parts numbers and the pads were correct for the LR number.

I used the original clips as they were OK.

It seems to me that the wrong clips are being packaged with the correct pads. Jules
