I have discovered I have been driving on Bridgestone Duravis commercial tyres.

Now I have noticed a droning coming from the rear and a few garage visits have suggested it is the tyres and nothing to really worry about.

My question is, since these are commercial tyres does that mean they have the thicker / stronger sidewalls and therefore need more PSI than the door sticker says? These are the tyres

I just went on tyres on the drive and for the 215/75/16 all but a couple of results appear to be for vans, will police or insurance object to van tyres on cars?

If your car came with 16” wheels which were available I’m surprised that the tyre pressure sticker doesn’t give pressures for them which suggests they are not the original rims. A page from the 2008 owners handbook does show 16” rims with your size tyres on them so I’d think that normal plod wouldn’t even realise they were commercial van tyres.
