England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame
Strange one for you.

Hey guys and girls,
My first post although I've been part of the Freelander Owners Group on Facebook for a while.

SO........ I've just spent nearly 2k on my Freelander keeping it on the road.........and in true Land Rover style, it throws up a new problem.

It runs great, pulls well and there's no knocks or bangs.....
BUT, when the cars idling it goes into "reduced Power" mode. Press the accelerator and it goes away.

It idles at 760rpm although I have adjusted up and down to see if this makes a difference and it doesn't.

The turbo and manifold were replaced (due to the manifold whistling and the turbo fins being knackered) and the accuator was swapped over as well.

Has anybody had a similar issue or can suggest a fix.

Cheers

Have you read the OBD error codes?

If you have been working on Turbo, please tell us what you found, and any other history of FL2 work/problems.

Error Codes are the most important clue. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

The code that sometimes appears is P2562 which applies to the Turbo accuator, but that doesn't make sense to me as it doesn't kick in until 2000 rpm so why would that effect the tick over?

Cheers

If it’s actuated at tickover when it shouldn’t be then there is a fault.

I've got a spare to swap over hopefully that will sort it.

Just wanted to see if anyone had a similar issue as it didn't make sense to me.

Cheers for the replies Thumbs Up

The P2562xx codes indicate that either the Turbo Vane Actuator is stuck or the Sensor is indicating that it is stuck.

Turbo Vane Faults will give Restricted Performance.

PS I have just been involved with another query/problem that started after components were changed, it turned out to be damaged wiring. Please check any disturbed wiring/connectors for damage or corrosion. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
