Rear ABS fault - tone wheel cleaning?

Hello all.
I am currently trying to get to the bottom of an ABS fault on my 2007 HSE manual.
after 500 yards driving the three amigos light up along with HDC fault, systems not available.
My Autel tells me it's a C0036-7 rear left tone wheel. Status intermittent.
I have ascertained that the battery is ok as often gets suggested with HDC faults.
I will be picking up a new ABS sensor tomorrow hoping that will sort it rather that needing a new bearing.
Given it is showing the tone wheel as faulty, is it possible this might be dirty, if so is there any way of cleaning it without dismantling the hub etc.

As an aside, just before my ownership the car had a new shock fitted to this corner, i'm wondering if the associated bashing required to get the hub off the upright might have dislodged rust etc around the tone wheel and sensor. The cables look to be ok.

Any help much appreciated.

The tone ring is very fragile, so easily damaged by rough handling.
I replaced my rear shocks without too much drama, and hasn't had any ABS issues as a result. Unfortunately not everyone is as careful with vehicle repairs, so issues can come up either at the time, or not long afterwards. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Thanks, yes I fear that is what may have happened. Am I right in thinking that the sensor would throw a different code?

A sensor fault normally throws a sensor out of range code.
However if the tone ring is damaged, then sensor is picking up the tone signal, it just isn't a constant tone. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
