Home > Technical > P0045-19 Fault code / battery supply voltage? |

I’m looking into a fault code. Read this in the Workshop manual. I also have fault codes in body control and infotainment module… this would suggest a generator or battery supply voltage fault. The battery is about 3 weeks old and this fault existed with the old one. SO… any idea how I check for generator / battery supply voltage issues??? Thanks!

Sorry Spacebrodie, I read your post back to front. I thought that you were trying to rule out any turbo relating problems. Yes you are right that the FL2 is prone to Battery problems and odd messages due to power supply issues during the initialisation phase of the various control units scattered around the car. Are you sure the car is charging your new battery, it could be something like the Blue Wire https://www.freel2.com/forum/topic37608.html?highlight=blue+wire We can expect a few more random error codes on the forum as the cold temperatures start to arrive. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011) FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015) Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History (Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?) |

Here is an output from the battery monitor I mentioned earlier. You can clearly see the voltage increases to just under 15 volts when the car is running and the voltage drop when it isn’t.

I use a 12v Display similar to this to keep an eye on my FL2's voltage.

Ive had these codes for a while and replaced the actuator twice and did lots of other check... everything seems fine and drives fine (apart from my low fuel rail pressure issue) so concluded with others that the turbo codes - unless there is an actual issue - are phantom.

I finally managed to resolve p0045-19, before changing the actuator or turbine, if you see this code check the connector pins, even if they may seem intact they are often corroded inside.

Thanks for sharing. How do you actually determine which type you have? Thanks! Andy |
