Our Super Simple CB Setup

Hi everyone.

Something we have been asked about over on our YouTube channel that might be of use to one or two of you over here. People had seen our CB setup either in videos or in person and were interested to know how we have it installed and what CB setup we use.

If you're after a CB setup that doesn't require any holes being made or wires being cut, take a look at the following video.

I didnt realise CB was still a thing in the UK.

But there are places where cell phones dont work well at all- like where I live (16 miles from centre of BHam) Jules

You don’t really have to move far from major routes for cell phones to become useless. Data is even worse which is why it is recommended to carry paper maps. In some parts of Scotland even main roads don’t always have a mobile signal that is useable.

I grew up with a dad that has always been a lorry driver and I remember finding all the CB "lingo" fascinating. So I've always had a bit of a soft spot for a CB radio and was a bit sad to see them slowly fizzle out over time.

They are a great "tool" to have when out green laning or just traveling with friends. Providing you are obviously within a certain radius of one-another. They can work flawlessly when, as mentioned in this thread, a £1,400 "smart" phone for example cannot. Laughing https://www.youtube.com/@scottandalana4x4

Tippers often use cb when in quarry or collecting from farms to know if it’s ok to go in or is another driver already being loaded
