I'm looking to buy some Milenco Grand Aeros but not sure which type to get, flat or convex.

Opinions/advice please. LR2 SD4 GS

I know nothing about the mirrors you mention.
But when I towed my caravan I used flat mirrors which clipped around the door mirrors and simply extended them in effect. Worked fine. Convex mirrors give a wider field of view but make it harder to judge relative speeds. Jules

Convex. Common sense isn't very common.

I wonder if they could damage the plastic door mirror surround.

I was happy with mirrors that allowed me to see down the side of the caravan. Jules

Flat Mirrors give the most realistic view to best judge position and distance, and as the drivers mirror is close (window mounted) it is relatively easy to move your head/eye position to increase field of view.

If you are worried about blind spots then a small (add-on) adhesive convex mirror is handy.

If you are worried about nearside field of view, then convex nearside mirror may help, although differing offside/nearside field of view may confuse.

I am sure that you could buy a couple of suitable cheap make-up/shaving mirrors to try out the views given.

I haven't had any experience in domestic caravan towing, but for normal car-only use, I used convex for wing-mounted, and flat for window-mounted mirrors.

I am surprised that in this day and age remote trailer mounted cameras are not the norm, covering blind spots and helping with reversing.

I've been using them for years now, Fit the Freelander perfectly. They fit the mirrors well and vibration is almost non existent, when fitted they still allow the original mirror adjustment and the mirrors can still fold with them fitted.

I use the flat type, I did buy the optional wedge type pads for the clamps but found i didn't need they.
