South Africa 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Alaska White
My Freelander 2 from South Africa

Been trolling the forum for a while and thought i would introduce myself and my Freely.
It a 2013 SE model.

I have done a fair bit of work to it and have more planned as doing a G4 inspired look for this 1.

As can see i have done a fair bit to it so far.
I put the OEM roof rails on, Snorkel , Indicator gaurds from a Defender, Interior bit painted black, Grill painted Matt black, Rear lettering removed, Renault Duster rear wiper, Rear Cage, Front and Rear light gaurds, tank gaurds and Fire Extinguisher installed.
I have a few other bits to go on when i am home again. I have a 20mm lift kit waiting to go on as well new rims for A/T tyres.
Let me know what you guys think.

Howdy guys.
Been a bit busy with work and maybe changing jobs but have managed to find time to do some more work on the old freely

Got my hand on the front and rear gaurds that are like hens teeth in South Africa. I modified the rear 1s to fit the rear face lift lights.

Tank gaurds also fitted

Found a roof rack that i liked and modified it to fit on the OEM roof rails. Fitted a light bar as well.

Got a cover made for the light bar to protect it when not in use and also make it legal as in South Africa can only use for off road or farm applications. So all on a separate switch etc.

That looks fantastic.
What is the benefit of the Renault rear wiper over the standard one? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Cosmetically looks a whole lot better.

The original wiper blade came from the BMC/Leyland parts bin !!

First thing I did to my FL2 when I bought it.

Is that just a blade change on rear or arm as well?. Sounds a good mod. Jim A

It a direct fit no modding needed. And yes replaces the whole unit

You may want to upgrade the roof rails. Australian roads break roof racks.

Makes sense what you did on the thread. Will look into doing something similar and strengthen the attachment points. Rack does need a little more modding to sit where i want it.

Not sure what wiper was supplied on your model but normal UK Freelanders have a fairly simple black wiper arm and blade as standard, not something I'd feel the need to change? Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

this was the factory fit arm and blade. As I said earlier BMC/Leyland part bin item. Not really suitable for a, then, modern vehicle.

Bob, I had to change mine a couple of years back and I found a Mondeo
one a lot cheaper and looks very much like the one Matty Mat has fitted. Thumbs Up DAVE.

I just wasnt a fan of the look of it and prefer a clean look at the rear of the car. And i am always tinkering and thinking of parts from other cars that could work as well. Like the side indicator protectors are off a defender.
