I saw on YouTube that high peak autos had a sport in px. He was on about selling it as it had problems, shame it looked quite nice. I guess it will be one of those worth more in bits then repaired

I have no idea of it’s real value, just a shame it’s beyond economical repair as they say. It looked quite nice, yes I am sure he will still make money out of it , even YouTube content value alone. No idea how much time and money it takes to make a YouTube channel so can not comment on that bit, but I suppose it generates advertising for his garage. I was just looking at the sport as a cheap tow car for a caravan, tax for 6 months then sorn it. Cheap holidays for someone.

Do you really need a RR. Someone here has towed 4.5 tonnes with the Freelander. In Australia the Freelander has up to 350kg towball weight (a useless number when factoring in other issues).

The sport was cheap, how cheap for someone depends. Yes they do tow some big outfits in Australia and New Zealand, the road trains look huge compared to the Uk. Never been in the southern hemisphere but it is out of budget etc now

he did say it could be the EGR valves but at 600 a piece it wasnt worth changing them. I just thought blank and code them out and that would rule out the EGR.

obviously it could be the turbo or manifolds or something else but an easy start would have been coding out the EGR to start with.

It did look in overall good condition for a 180,000 mile RRS though

Daughter is moving from Sale to Brisbane next week. She and her RAAF pilot partner are driving their SUVs and dog up to the new home as the RAAF will only move the furniture and motorbikes for free.
Looking forward to coming over again and getting in some SCUBA diving at last (Sale was not the place for diving). Jules

Yep that's the one ! 2013 FL2 XS.

I thought the one he bought was the 2.7 TDV6? It's generally the later 3.0 SDV6 that gives the problems.

Fun fact: the Sd4 Freelander 2 has exactly the same power output and torque of the 2.7 TDV6 used in the Discovery 3 and RR Sport, but in a 400kg lighter package. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Is it the same engine salvage rebuild take to Essex somewhere to be redone ? Think they called him josh. I watch that sort of stuff but it’s way above my pay grade.😆

Wow, there's quite a difference; 56.5W/kg (RRS) vs 77.6W/kg for the SD4. With the SD4 having a 2.4sec faster 0-60mph time over the TDV6 RRS (11.3 vs 8.9).

For comparison my old 2000 Disco 2 TD5 had 49.2W/kg and a 13.2sec 0-60 - yet it never seemed that slow.

The 2.7L also breaks crankshafts or spins rod bearings. However if a 2.7L gets to over 120k, it's normally good until worn out. Not all 2.7L crankshafts were effected by this crank breakage issue. Apparently it was only cranks supplied by a particularly company (PSA use local companies to make parts to comply with some French rule), and this company made thousands of weak crankshafts for the 2.7L. However cranks made by other companies correctly last the life of the engine.

The 3.0L makes too much torque for the crankshaft, and also suffers from low oil pressure compounding the weak crank issue, so breakage is pretty much guaranteed before the engine is at the end of life. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
