I'm hoping someone can advise. My engine vibrates (in my opinion excessively) at idle and has done so for about 6 months. I thought it could be engine mounts. In the last 2 weeks my manual gear change has been getting stiffer in all gears. This is more obvious when accelerating hard and its hard to engage a gear. If Im cruising with no rush to gear change it's fairly smooth.

Yeh - serviced every 12k or annually but Gearbox oil I don't think has been changed - Thats definitely on my list. Just think the engine vibration and gear change is linked. Thinking DMF as a possibility as my sons Golf developed a similar vibration but it was also noisy! |

119K its a 2012. So definitely needs an oil change!! |

I had the same idle vibrations. It turned out to be the engine mount which is hydraulic. It was completely depressed. Once changed, engine vibrations at idle went away. I also had a hard auto gear shifter. It would shift from P to D but with a little effort. That went away with the engine mount change as well. I had done the gear box mount earlier, but the shifter became smoother only after I changed the hydraulic engine mount. |

JLR says change gearbox, PTU and rear diff at 10yrs/150k miles but that is way too long IMO. ALSO JLR has no recommended service for the Haldex (though every other car manufacturer says around 20-30K miles depending on the car). I think JLR just expects you to buy a new one. It could be the DMF at that mileage. I had one fail on a Skoda Fabia and the gear lever really vibrated at idle but the vibration wasnt felt elsewhere really. Personally I'd start with some less expensive things like engine mounts Jules |

Generally a failing DMF will rattle at idle. The DW12 DMF is generally good for 2 clutches. Engine mounts are the first thing to check Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate.
