2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Barolo Black

Dsc triangle warning light

Hi all Newby here

I've just purchased a freelander 2 td4 and the yellow triangle ⚠️ keeps lighting up when I pull away turning right and sometimes as I'm driving round a right hand corner and stays flashing, I'm new to the haldex system my other freelander 1 had the vcu on it,

I've done a bit of research and realise the system is thinking I've lost traction on a wheel wheel and is telling the haldex to use the 4 wheel drive system, ( I'm on the Rd surface)
What I'd like to know is
Should the Amber triangle just light up when a wheel loses traction or keep flashing
But doesn't stop till I switch ignition off

And also when it's flashing when I pull away there's a slight thud as if something is engaging then it drives ok

Any idea's would be greatly appreciated

When was haldex last serviced , if ever ?

My first thoughts is that it could be a haldex full of crud.
Pull the haldex fuse to disasble it (ignore the warnings - they will go when fuse is replaced) and see if the situation improves.

If its the haldex - then it needs properly servicing - not just the disposable filter but also changing the haldex fluid, removing the pump and cleaning its filter. Lots on here about haldex servicing.
JLR's haldex service schedule is woefully inadequate and gives rise to premature failure. Jules

Yes I've ran a code reader over it with no faults
Milage is 118000 miles

Not sure when it was last serviced as its not in the service book with the rest of the services

I have purchased a haldex service kit which I'm going to do over the Xmas holiday

I'll pull the fuse out and see if it makes a difference

It's unlikely to be Haldex related, but more likely to be steering related.
From the description, I'd guess it's an issue with steering angle sensor.
They're pretty reliable, but have been known to fail on occasion.

I'd try a hard reset first. A code road will be needed to go further, and if a new sensor is needed, that will need accurate calibration. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

How do I do a hard reset and get the code you mentioned and I presume I'll have to drop it in at my local landrover dealers for the sensor fitting and calibration

For hard reset disconnect battery hold the cables together for a few seconds.

Hard reset as suggested above.

A code reader is required to identify the component causing the warning.
It doesn't have to he an LR dealer, as there's nothing particularly LR about the vehicle, it's basically a Ford Mondeo/ Galaxy.
Any suitably equipped garage should have the necessary diagnostic equipment, and should be able to replace a steering angle sensor in a few minutes. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
