looking to change all 4 shoes on the landy - anyone got any views on these Goodyear Vector 4Season gen 3?

the other choise being the Good year wrangler all seasons.

Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

They are expensive, round, black and made by a company with a good reputation, and I can pronounce their name. They’ll probably be ok.
Over the years I’ve owned an AWD, I’ve used and found Goodyear Wranglers, Vredstein Wintrac and Michelin CrossClimate2 ok on Land Rovers. Didn’t like the set of Pirelli Scorpion all seasons I had experience with, they didn’t age well at all.

I am afraid I have no knowledge of the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons, but I had 4 x new tyres fitted on Saturday. In the end I opted for Goodyear Wranglers because they were £30 each cheaper than all the other options
Mine was supplied new with Wranglers. As far as I am concerned they are absolutely fine as a general all round tyre for mainly road use. The only thing I would say is that they can get very noisy as they wear below 4 to 5 mm tread but I don't know whether that is the same for other makes

I do love the "new set of tyres" feeling. Car drives beautifully and so quiet!!

Our previous FL2 had Wranglers and they became noisy towards the end of their life.
The current FL2 came with Continental somethings which were fine. Its currently wearing Nokian Weatherproof, which to my dismay were made in Russia - they used to be made in Finland. They'll be replaced sometime next year as the car gets to 60K miles. The Nokians have been fine but others have complained about severe sidewall and block cracking - mine has a few but nothing severe. Jules

Wranglers were fine when I took them off road, they even did quite well in snow. Wintrac were great as a winter tyre but as usual, get some winter tyres if you want to frighten the snow way. The Pirelli’s went hard and suffered from cracks between tread blocks and following a case where blocks left the tyre with the inevitable deflation in lane 3 (not on my car) I got rid of them.

Cannot comment on Wranglers never had them but I have BF Goodrich Urban Terrain on my FL2 been on 3 years now and not showing any significant signs of wear and are good on the road and in mud and snow.

I have BFG All terrain on my Defenders and the walls will perish before the tread wears out they last forever not the cheapest but worth the extra cost.

I've got the Goodyear Vector 4Season gen 3 and they have been great.

Be aware that, in some sizes, there is also a SUV variant, which I am guessing is a higher load rating. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

Chiming in for the Vredestein Quatrk Pros - Fabulous all season tyres and they are brilliant in the wet, ice and snow. This will be my third winter with them on and the wear is also excellent.

When looking I really wanted a set of the Goodyears Vectors, but due to tyre shortages all I could get were the Vredesteins and I am glad it turned out that way. Couldn't be happier with them.

WROTE THIS IN MAY '22

Had Continental's cross contact as per original spec fitted in 2016; did 39,400 on deliberately downsized 17" wheels, across the whole of Europe, Alps, Pyrenees, etc. Fantastic tyre, secure, smooth, stable. Changed them in 2019 for Pirelli all season; what a disaster. Thought there was something seriously wrong with alignment or steering mech, had it checked three times. Car wandered all over the place with every change of road surface, potholes, white lines etc. I could even tell the sex of a dead bird! They failed MOT after 23,000 and changed back to Contis in May. What a staggering difference; the car is immediately back to it's stable, secure positive self with no wandering issues. Speak as you find but Continentals are now my default tyre.

The biggest problems with choosing tyres are, that they are expensive, there is limited chance to test them yourself in a controlled manner, AND YOU CAN’T TAKE THEM BACK IF YOU DON’T LIKE THEM! So you are stuck with them until you can find the money and an excuse to change them.

As for the Pirelli Scorpion all season. The most overrated tyre I’ve ever driven on. And Pirelli were one of my go to motorcycle tyre manufacturers.

so far on road been very happy with them, yet to go off road in them but it’s only mild off road, grass, dirt tracks around farm.

Got all four on the black friday deal for £411.84 bargain me thinks.

Time will tell.
