servicing requirements

Hi all,
My new to me 2014 FL2 diesel is due a service soon having come from a RR TD6 (2003).
Can get the required filters etc but am a bit confused as to what oils to use re engine, diffs etc.
Been given differing offerings regarding said oils,so would appreciate what would be the better oils.
TIA

cheers
littlecub

There are a multitude of posts about this topic. If you use the search function and search for 'which oil' or 'best oil' you'll get plenty of information. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I have always used a independent mechanic, previous cars as well. But my mechanic does always use LR parts, they are not that expensive.

I did buy some bits years ago myself. parts@billbuckle.com.au

Filters etc, buy 2 at a time to amortise freight.

Over the years other stuff I get from site sponsors.

I use Penrite when I DIY. Available at Supercheap.

Any oil for the Freeo diesel needs to be C1, in 5W-30. I think it's an ultra-low ash for the DPF.

Just match the recommendations from various oils you see recommended on here.

What are you comparing them too ? Laughing

I find JLR parts quite expensive and usually look for a Ford /Volvo/OEM equivalent

eg
LR shock absorbers £245 each
Bilstein OEM ones £76 each Jules

My shocks are still ok after >4000km on these smooth roads.

Unfortunately my original JLR shocks are leaking after 59K miles on Britain's potholed roads. Jules
