Freelander 2 wobble

Hi,

I have a freelander 2 2013 sd4 comand shift,

Wondering if anyone has come across an issue I have, I have a very noticeable wobble under load and mainly upto 2000rpm then seems to fade out, worse uphill and when pulling away,
I have had a new drivers side driveshaft because of a leaking boot, seems this issue has come since then but surely can't be a new driveshaft?

Thanks

Check your tyres.

SWMBO's car developed a wobble that got progressively worse and wasn't identified until the car was in the air on a twin post ramp and the wheels were spun round by hand - the two front tyres were out of shape and needed replacing... not what I expected from Pirelli tyres fitted new by the LR dealer we bought the car from but it seems that there is a trade off between improving fuel consumption and structural integrity of the carcass and it'd been reached in this case.

Replaced all four tyres with new Goodyear Wrangler AP all weather and good as gold since.

Was it a genuine LR or OE GKN shaft? If not then it's not unheard of for the inboard joint to stiffen under load, causing the whole power unit to shake on its mountings.
This issue affects many cheap aftermarket shafts, when fitted to many different vehicles. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Gone.
2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE. Gone.
Audi A5 convertible, my daily driver.
1972 Hillman Avenger GT, the project.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, not long had a full set of goodyear efficient grip 2s on, also just had the wheels balanced again to make sure and tracked aswell,

The shaft that was fitted was a gsp,

I did also have the passenger shaft lose its grease but has now been regressed but not sure if that would cause it, just seems suspicious it seams to of happened since the new drive shaft, is there a way to check?

Thanks
