"new" Dutch / Finnish owner here of a TD4 2007 SE, just got the car today and making a little list of things that need sorting out.

One thing on the list is the plastic cover bit that hold all the window buttons and the mirror adjustment buttons on the driver side, The buttons all work fine, but the plastic piece they sit in, has broken clips, so it is just hanging in there not held by anything.

Would anyone know the part number for that plastic bit, I noticed already that the buttons have a different part number and don't come with the plastic bit (LR003584)

The trim that goes around the buttons is usually included with the door card if you are buying used parts. The buttons drop out easy enough, but as far as I remember that trim stays in the door trim unless you really start attacking it.

Thanks, guess I will start looking for a door card in that case or see if I can glue it into place or something, as I guess if I ever replace the buttons you have to take the whole door card off anyway for that.

Bit off the wall but could it be 3D printed ?

I haven't had mine to bits yet, so best to check for yourself, but looking at lrcat it does seem that the switch panel comes complete with the door card. Of course then you have to work out which one suits your car, so LH drive driver's door trim, and your colour combination of which there are several...

I've repaired plastic door trim before, even door handles, with metal and epoxy: cut metal spines to fit and bridge load bearing areas, rough up the plastic with some sandpaper, wipe with alchohol, fit your splines and smother with strong epoxy. When it's cured you can fill and paint it, if that's what you need. Works on ABS and hard plastics, not on polypropylene >PP<
