Windows and other electrical not behaving

I've noticed a few electrical gremlins creeping in to my 118,000 mile i6

1. The one-touch opening has disappeared on the drivers door

2. The offside rear window will not close; it hits the top and returns to a midway point. I can get it almost closed – by about 1/4 inch

3. The proximity alarm doesnt work all the time.

4. Occasionally when using the cruise control, the minus button disengages the cruise, instead of reducing the speed.

Anybody got any ideas please? Are these all single problems or part of one bigger one? Previous

I’m guessing you’ve done a hard reset and done the window thing holding the button down until you hear a click ?

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

Do a hard reset, then calibrate the windows following the instructions in the owners handbook.
All these functions are controlled by different modules, so a common cause is unlikely. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Windows issues

Thanks for replying SYFL2 and Nodge68,

I did look at the handbook but could see nothing about resetting the windows.

Resetting the windows was a regular occurrence on the Rangie P38 (every time you changed the battery etc) There was even a section in the handbook.

So whereabouts is the resetting bit in the Freelander 2 handbook please?

Badger51,

Thanks for showing that page. There was nothing in the index about windows, just page 11 in the quickstart section. Only a reference to 'Resetting the audio'.

It's the way people write the indexes to manuals these days (OK in 2008 Smile

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

The window module uses a combination of motor current monitoring and a hall sensor pulse to detect when the window is at each end of its travel, and if there's an obstruction when closing on auto mode. Because the current monitoring and pulse count resets after battery disconnection, it's necessary for the door modules to learn the motor current and pulse count each time the battery is reconnection.
This my be the reason your window is backing up once at the top, as it's seeing a spike in current as an obstruction, if the pulse count has registered the window at the top.

Hopefully the issue will be resolved when the windows are reset. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
