Cheers Mikey, I know, boost leak first thing I looked for. All of the pipes look absolutely mint. Haven’t taken the short one from the throttle body off, but had a good furtle round, couldn’t feel anything, no oil & looked pretty good in the mirror. I’m absolutely baffled.I’ll definitely post the outcome.

Have you checked the short turbo feed pipe, the one that goes from plastic to turbo

Yes chips tried that, but didn’t remove it, just a really good feel for rips or oil, it was very clean. Might have to bite the bullet and remove it for a better look. Though I’m looking for an independant LR specialist who can smoke test.

The plot thickens & gets worse!

So fuel filter changed, codes read and came up with:
P006C-92 Manifold absolute pressure
Turbo inlet pressure correlation - permanent

P0105-17 barometric circuit. - intermittent

Garage checked every turbo pipe & manifolds, no leaks

Cleared faults, cleared the dpf, went for a test, 100 metres fault back.
Whatever the fault is when it’s in limp mode it produces so much soot that the dpf can fill up in just a few miles. Garage keeping car, but anyone any thoughts or had this problem Freelander 1 3.2

It does also list a blockage or leakage in the induction + boost systems, but if they've been checked, that only leaves a wiring issue to either sensor now...

Yes, checked all of that, there’s a worrying amount of soot being produced in lump mode, so I’m fearing an internal issue, injectors or valves - but would these raise another fault code? Freelander 1 3.2

Update

Still have manifold absolute pressure fault code.
Now fully pressure smoke tested, no leaks.
Replaced map & maf. Checked actuator working, checked turbo turns freely by hand.
New fuel filter. Still no boost whatsoever. Checked map reading 101kpa at tickover, doesn’t move with increased revs, even when engine faults cleared & not in reduced power mode.
Can the boost sensor be to blame, although this should throw up a different code.
Drives nice and smoothly off boost.
No leaks on injectors, injector pressure good.
One strange thing though, diagnostic tool when it shows actual 101 kpa barometric, it says target 0? Can this be right? Freelander 1 3.2

Final update

Thanks for all the contributions.
After exhaustive checking of sensors, inlet pipes, inter cooler, turbo, we’ve found the problem. The cat matrix has disintegrated, dumped all the debris in the dpf, broken the front of the dpf filter, and excessive back pressure has been preventing the turbo from spooling.
So I now have a (expensive or unethical choice) smash the rest of the matrix out, map it all out & fingers crossed on MOT or new cat & dpf. Freelander 1 3.2
