United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Martinique Blue
Audio Connectivity Module

Anyone got one of these lying around? Heh

Ok so likely not but cheapest I can find it is about $150 from the states.

Any dealers likely to have em in stock at a decent price?

Oh and does anyone know if they show track data on the radio yet (either Ipod or mp3). I don't actually have an ipod so i'm not fussed if it's the one with the cradle for it or not. I'd be using it with a portable hard drive. 09MY FL2 Td4 XS, Style Pack, Privacy Glass, Martinique Blue.. oh so very blue..

Belgium 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

The design has recently changed to a cable connection within the glove box. No cradle. The dealer told me this was because people were often leaving their ipod in the cradle on the dash board and they were getting nicked. In the glove box, no one can see it.

I have one. It does not show any track information on the radio. The best you can do is flick forward or back through tracks, an adjust the volume from the radio or the steering wheel controls. If you have the phone controls on the steering wheel, you're also meant to be able to switch between playlists. Though you can't read what the play list is. The cable connector is too short to bring the ipod outside of the glove book to read it safely.

On balance, I find it very useful and like it. Not perfect, and perhaps expensive for what it is. As the connector fits into the base of the ipod, I think the sound quality is better than via connection to the headphone socket.

An annoying thing is that when you switch off the power from the radio, or switch to radio output or CD, the ipod itself is not turned off. It just keeps running in silence in the glove box. And it woould be unsafe and fiddly to open the glove box and turn off the ipod directly. It turns off only when you turn off the ignition.

The unit also has a USB inout socket.
