South Africa 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 SE Auto Zermatt Silver
Fusible Link on Diesel Battery

Hi everyone,

so I am a happy new owner of a Freelander 2 2012 SD4 SE. Happy at least while it runs smoothly. This forum has helped me a lot already, thanks thus far.

I have some electrical issues and the battery seems to be draining within a day or two.

Today I have discovered a broken connection at the negative terminal. It seems to be a fusible link, with part number LR014994 - FUSIBLE LINK or 10C652A. Anyone know what the function on this one is? Can this have to do with my battery drain?
The car works fine otherwise, it seems at least.

Thanks a lot

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Zermatt Silver

That looks like the battery monitor module.
The main fuse is on the positive side. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.
