noise/drone form rear Changed bearing/Diff and still there

After some advice... I've read the threads on diff/bearing/haldex problems but after some advice - you'll see what I mean...

had a noise/Drone, that seem to be coming from the rear, mainly the passenger side and middle of car.. Slowly, got worse over a week or so, until it was really loud.

To get to a local Landrover specialist and diagnosed a rear diff issue. No faults on dash or messages about special terrain programmes, no knocks when steering on full lock, but a whirring that got louder as speed increased

So paid for rear diff and driveshaft.

Noise still there. It had changed slightly and seemed to be much more in the rear left side. So was advised to change the wheel bearing - all seems logical.

So bearing changed.

Noise still there. Much quieter and less gritty feeling but still there.

Reversing into drive full lock and straightening up, and for the first time heard a very quiet knock or tap.

So this is where I'm at.. questions I'd appreciate some advice on;
The knock - i guess that indicates that the Haldex is not good.

if it is the Haldex, can it be serviced? and the problem goes or are we taking a new/reconditioned Haldex at ££

I guess for a new/recon haldex taking £1000/£1300 for unit,labour and vat?

Any advice would be gratefully received... Thanks

Yes haldex filter and oil change, also clean the screen on the haldex pump. This can cure a number of issues gthat haldex system displays. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

I wouldn't take it back to your so-called "specialist" who failed to diagnose the problem and charged you for new components which didn't solve the issue.

You dont say what the mileage is and whether or not its only had the standard JLR servicing; which is inadequate from a preventative maintenance point of view - especially with regard to the rear diff and the haldex unit.
Without more info, the first thing I would have undertaken was replace the haldex filter, clean the haldex pump filter, drain and replace the haldex oil and drained/replaced the rear diff oil. Then see if the noise changes.
After that I'd talk to Austen at Bell Engineering. Jules
