Side vents

Hi Al, I've recently bought a 2008 freelander 2 se in black.
I have taken the side vents off to paint them black, so took the passenger side off first, painted and replaced & all OK.
But when I did the drivers side and re fitted it the car won't lock. All it does is make a sound like the door is still open but won't lock any door.

I was just thinking about taking mine off and either wrapping or painting but might opt against it now. I can't see how the vent would interfere with locking however.

No chance the side vent messes with locking or unlocking unless you caused an electrical fault and even then...

More likely the keyfob battery needs to be recharged by slot or your car battery ran down.

Swapped mine for some completely different colour grills. It didn’t effect the locking at all. That is just a coincidence!

Perimeter ajar signal from doors, tailgate, bonnet or ignition left on?

Check everything is closed and you haven't disturbed/damaged bonnet lock or wiring. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)

Just shows what a little bit of damp will do,
Not a bit like the older series Land rover. Laughing
Glad it was a simple fix. Thumbs Up DAVE.
