Hi folks
The other day when travelling at around 70-80MPH the clutch appeared to slip when going up a hill, it was only for a few seconds and then all fine.
We were heading to the Alps, and each day there were were driving down and up the side of a mountain road, switch backs and very steep roads. I was expecting the clutch to show signs of slip but nothing.

Has anyone else experienced this type of behaviour, if so is it likely the clutch plate need replacing?

Also I know this sounds absolutly silly, but since the car has been back from the trip to the Alps it has been running fantastic. I did a trip to Coventry and back from Southampoton, round trip of 262 miles.
The car is returning around 46.1 there & 53.2mpg back. I checked this against the fill to fill volume, and it has come out as 51mpg.
Could this be the most fuel efficient Frrelander 2?

Cannot comment on the clutch but I get very similar fuel consumption from my manual TD4 50+ MPG on a run which is why I chose it over the auto.  2013 FL2 XS.

Most show clutch slip in 6th between 1800rpm and 2200rpm, peak torque. You can test on the motorway, put in 6th at 50-60mph and floor it. If it revs slightly higher and then picks up its usually a sign of clutch wear. The work involved to change, and its quite a bit of work, I would advise to consider replacing the dmf and concentric slave at the same time. A few extra quid on parts, but a proper job. Advanced factors supplied mine which is coming up two years since I replaced and all good, that's towing a heavy caravan aswell.
