United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Auto Aintree Green
New Tyres

Started looking around for a set of new tyres today, wanted to replace with the OE Pirelli Scorpion Zero's.

Started looking on line and prices were coming in at £150 to £160 a corner, that was Black Circles, Kwikfit, local indy shop and a few others, then I thought I would check Halfords (now own National Tyres apparently) pleasantly surprised to find they wanted £129.59 a corner fitted. Very happy with that, being fitted on Monday morning Thumbs Up

So if you are looking for tyres, don't forget to check the Halfords website Thumbs Up 2007 TD4 XS The work horse that earns its up keep
2013 SD4 HSE The posh one for towing the caravan
1973 Triumph Stag I bought in 2009 and restored.

For anyone looking for new tyres in UK it's also worth checking HiQ online. Must confess I didn't check Halfords but HiQ were way cheaper than anyone else I looked at, including Black Circles. driving on the right side

I bought Nokian Weatherproof a few years ago - nice tyre but I wont be doing that again - they're made in Russia. Jules

United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Rimini Red

I use Yokohama Geolander AT 015, which do everything very well.
Unfortunately they're not available in the larger wheel sizes, but for my 17s they're perfect. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.

Good to know you found a deal , Generally, I think the days have gone where you could get a great deal on tyres . At the end of the day , even using various membership schemes ( we’ve got ATS 60+ , Boundless Civil Service , BASC , Costco ) to choose from , the prices always seem to be pretty much the same where ever I phone or Google . I’m looking for a set of Cross Climates at the moment . 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I saved £100 per tyre on my Fiesta ST by going from 205/40R18 to 225/40R18 so it may be worth looking at slightly different tyre sizes on the FL2.

I used Tyre-Shopper.co.uk Jules

If you change the width and stay with the same profile then your speedo is no longer accurate it under reads with an increased width on the same profile, the profile must always be lowered, there are a few sites that give alternative sizes and the discrepancy of the speedo, also each rim has a maximum and minimum safe tyre width.
I'm not saying you shouldn't do it but when posting one should also post the cons, not everyone will know there are problems associated of changing tyre and wheel sizes, the increase in width may also cause the tyre to touch the inner wing on steering lock. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
2012 HSE SD4 In Orkney Grey now gone, best car ever.
