iPhone 11 works fine on my 2014. Ignore the list of compatible phones because Bluetooth is a standard so all mildly recent mobiles will work just fine. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but apart from using the LR bluetooth connectivity list is there any way of knowing what the latest compatible iPhone might be? Tried an 11 some while ago, nothing, ended up with the 7 which is ok however have just changed provider and it’s getting crap reception indoors. Looking to have to upgrade to a newer iPhone and would like to stay hands-free but can do very little if the connectivity list is anything to go by. Tried calling LR customer services but got nowhere, it was if I was talking in a foreign tongue.
I don’t know anyone using a newer iPhone that I could try linking up and it seems otherwise impossible to know what would work.

Besides going Android it sounds like you may be stuffed, for reference my Samsung S21+ 5g has no issues at all.

You sound like you want to stick with Apple though so that's probably not much help to you, sorry about that Sid! Crying or Very sad 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

Me and 'er each have an iPhone XR connects quite happily. Not the latest by any means but certainly later than ‘7’.

Ironically Sky have said they’ve upgraded their local masts for better 5G coverage so my old iPhone 7 is technically even more out of date, which may be the reason it’s crap indoors. I mentioned the original SE (sits between 7 and 8 I believe?) was on LR list and he reckoned the new SE could work as it’s fundamentally the same phone but geared up for 5G. My question though is how to try it; if I get one and it doesn’t work, I’ve got all that hassle of sending it back Rolling Eyes

This is all very odd as both my wife's iPhone 11 and my iPhone 13 connect without any problems to our FL2 although I did replace the Bluetooth module, but simply because it stopped working completely. I just bought another one on eBay and all was good again.

Think I’ll just have to try and find someone with a late iPhone and see if it connects as you’re not the first on here to be using much later model. Incidentally what years your car?

As I said, I did replace the Bluetooth module in July 2021, so before the 13 came out and my wife got her 11 around that time so it may be that a later BT module might do the trick. I’ve had a look back through my photos to see if I had downloaded a photo from eBay to show the model number but I’m afraid not.

It’s a 2008, but a later module perhaps?

I had a look in my online photo storage and found this photo which is a screenshot of the item I bought on eBay. My recollection is that the one in my FL2 was made in France. There is a few on eBay at the moment but they’re a lot dearer than the fifty quid I paid.
