Oh wasn’t aware of the lights. Found this one which is also local and a far better price.

Also if purchased would it be worth getting it under sealed? And any other nice to do maintenance jobs like Haldex service etc? If I make the move it’ll be long term ownership hopefully so want to look after it. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

That looks like a nice example and clearly hasn't towed much by the black paint still on the towball. I'd be checking if it's had haldex serviced, autobox and diff/ptu oil changed. It is due them all if they haven't. Landrover - turning owners into mechanics since 1948

Cheers. I plan to use some of the surplus from the sale of the Outlander to treat whatever Freelander I get to make sure everything is as cared for as it can be. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

That looks nicer.

Note that it has lots of kit, so you need to do a bit of research on the goodies and check every button works and everything heats up, cools down, opens, closes, lights up, and moves.

Some mud flaps will keep the sides cleaner.

You need some written warranty that everything works and is covered for a year at least. If the garage is unsure of it's ability to drive without fault for 12 months, then you may need to look further afield.

There are many good example out there, and, if you are patient, the right one will eventually show up.

I had a 'email notifying' saved search on Auto Trader for many months before the right one turned up, in my colour, specification, extras and with full LR Servicing History and Warranty. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

I would suggest that it has maybe never towed, by the registration it is an ex LR car possibly one supplied and registered to a hire car company for the exclusive use of LR customers needing a warranty replacement car out of hours or when there is no LR dealership capable of supplying a temporary replacement, The SD HSE Ihad was one of those and purchased from an LR main dealer with 6k on the clock, was sold as ex LR but the first registered owner was Enterprise's holding company, many of them had tow bars fitted. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Speaking to the seller of that one, it is more of a private seller, so no warranty with it. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Nice car, yes a little expensive but potentially worth it. At the end of the day those who say its too expensive its not their money, you decide.
Reason i have replied to your post is due to the incessant perception to go for a EV (driving a battery is not my thing) so it refreshing to see someone buck the trend Thumbs Up
Good luck if you go for it.

For me it’s all about *that* feeling of being in a Land Rover (not the one of oh god will it start). I can’t shift that feeling. There is nothing wrong with the Outlander at all and is more frugal for my uses. But, what can I say.

So I’m going to and see that black one at the weekend. I’ll either realise it’s not what I remembered, or it’ll be the right choice. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Worth noting the important comment about lights.

Late model FL2s (apart from HSE LUX and METRO) have rubbish lights. especially on main beam.

I concur.
I would have bought a Metropolis if I had realised just how bad the lights were on the SE Tech . Jules

Also remember to check the satnav locks onto the UK as soon as ignition is turned on and does not default to Belgium. Easily missed.
Mines started doing this and reverts to the UK after about 10 minutes.

Ok, just had a very good trade offer on my Outlander for this car

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202301183379335

It’s an SE Tech, so no sun roof or Xenons. Sun roof isn’t an issue but are the halogens that bad? Not something I’m going to be able to test.

Also comes with a 12 month warranty which is better than anything I’ve found so far.

Assuming won’t have had belts/pump done though. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
