Swapping out an indicator stalk | |
Hi,
I’ve a faulty indicator stalk on my MY09 HSE- the info button isn’t functioning, and I have a mostly blank journey info screen as a result. (The alerts, gearbox settings bits all do still work)
This isn’t even an irritation for me, just a nice-to-fix… but doesn’t warrant a new part at north of £270.00... I have my eye on a replacement from a salvage firm at less than a tenth of that price, but looking at the piccies of the part and the connectivity plug in particular, find myself wondering if this would ‘plug n play’ or whether it might cause the need for re-programming in the car’s electronics… territory I stay well away from!
Would anyone know either way? It’s not worth a garage bill or the risk of me messing up an otherwise perfectly running MY09 175K mile FL2, that yet again went straight through its MOT this week without so much as an advisory… Lexus RX450H - 500 mile a week commuter- I just couldn’t trust in a newer RRS or DS for that….
2009 Freelander 2 HSE... 155K miles, we’ve done 135k of those, has done brilliantly on the commute and staying firmly put as car two in the household
2002 Jaguar XK8 Coupe... fun, fast, ours for 12 years and owes us nothing - so staying with us too…
