The same applies to mine. I wonder what would happen if if it did it when the wipers were frozen to the screen one winter's morn!

When I first got the car I had the same problem - a single wipe. Doesn't seem to do it anymore - but I do live in a hot climate and summer is kicking in! Automatic headlights... now thats a different matter - come on mid afternoon before it's dark - where is the sensor / adjustment for those? |

The ambient light sensor is part of the rain sensor module. This is located behind the cover for the rear view mirror at the top of the screen. You will be able to see it if you look carefully from outside the vehicle. You cannot adjust the sensitivity of this device. You have to remember the limitations, much like the limitations of the solar sensor that is used on the climate system, it can only sense the correct light level when it is incident on the screen at the point where the sensor is. |

I have not had this problem since we got the car. Have gone to start the vehicle now-wipers stayed off.How can this be different on different vehicles. Either they all do it or none of them do it ! |

Your wipers probably are set in "service" position -page 84 of the owner's manual (USA) |

The Freely II delivered in Germany does have a rotating switch on the wiper device to adjust the rain sensor sensitivity.
