Sidestep problem

2010 HSE autp
Today I had a bit of calamity. Visiting my dad’s ashes scattered at an old mining village high above Patna Ayrshire. Road up is rough but drivable. Been up a few times. Anyway at part of the road timber removal people have created a cross road. Very cut up and wet. Crossed over ok on way up. O way back took a slightly different line and threw up a branch hidden in mud which knocked my near side steps off.
Threw in car until home. Brackets are all good. Looks to me that the steps are riveted to the brackets
Can someone confirm please and also, any ideas how to fix.
Thank you Jim A

I am presuming the step as just become unattached from the the square tubes which are pop rivet to the underside of the step as below.

New ones come with then tubes already attached so you will need to remove the tubes, then find a way of fixing them back to the under side of the step.

Self tapping bolts maybe?

Make some brackets that go over the tube and then pop rivet into the step.

Thanks for the photos.
I had thought about drilling through each tube from above and using coach bolts with low head to hold them down. In the end my garage used industrial adhesive after cleaning up.
They had enough of the old rivets left to keep the step in place.
So far, seems good. Very stiff with positively no movement. Will be keeping a close eye on them.
Thanks. Jim A
