Ford or peugeot

Hello. I’m sure my 2014 td4 has a Peugeot engine , but somebody is swearing that it’s a Ford engine ?

Joint venture in 1998 between PSA and Ford.
PSA were already producing high pressure injection diesel engines, but this expanded production to Ford and Volvo plants.

Land Rover (and Volvo) were owned by Ford at the time the FL2 was produced. FL2 XS SD4 Auto 2010 2012-2017 (21k - 91k miles) (MY2011)
FL2 Metropolis SD4 Auto 2014 2017- (16k - 77k+ miles) (MY2015)
Metro in its 11th Year of (Extended) LR Warranty / Full LR Service History
(Expensive, but Trouble/Worry free - hopefully?)

As Ianmetro said, your engine was used by Ford, Volvo and Peugeot and by Land Rover in early Evoque’s as well as the Freelander 2.
Have a look around the interior of your car and you’ll find evidence in the part numbers on the back of mouldings.

Early Discovery Sports had them too , rather than the dreaded Engenium engine. Jules

It's a PSA DW12, and is more PSA than Ford. The DW12 shares many parts with older PSA engines, and almost nothing from a Ford engine. It is also in more PSA vehicles than Ford vehicles, oh and a Mitsubushi vehicle too.
It was used by JLR as at the time JLR was owned by Ford, in much the same way as JLR vehicles got BMW engines while under BWM ownership. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
