United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Galway Green
Noise whilst accelerating

Hi all,

My 125k mile FL2 has developed a ‘noise’ whilst I’m accelerating, I’m struggling to describe it and the best I can come up with is it sounds a bit “chainy”. If I drop the clutch whilst moving the noise stops - so it does appear to be linked with accelerating. I’ve had the clutch replaced and the belt/pump have been done. Next thoughts are oil change on the gearbox (manual) or diff service. Question is: does this sound symptomatic of anything anyone else has any experience with?

Thanks,
Simon

If it's had a clutch, then the gearbox oil will have already be replaced.

Have you checked the exhaust heat shields, as they are known to come away from the body fixings. Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate. The family car.
