Nudge gear lever to release key.

Hey all,

Bit of an odd one this, but when stopping, putting into park and turning off engine, the key port doesn’t light up green for me to eject.

I have to literally just nudge the gear lever forward ever so slightly and sure enough it’ll light up green and allow me to eject the key.

It’s a trivial thing but wonder if it’s something I need to fix before it becomes a bigger problem.

Would this be linked to a handbrake cable or park brake being too loose? Or is it something different?

Thanks.

I would remove the gator from it and make sure everything is clean and a good squirt of silicone spray or something the gear knob spring is known to throw problems too.

It is an auto.

I’ll give a spray and clean a go and see how I get on. Like I say it’s a trivial thing I just don’t want it to end up being a bigger problem and my key gets stuck.
