Gearbox oil

A bit of oil dropped out of the gearbox whilst I had the driveshaft removed.

I've read a lot of conflicting advice on what our even if I should fill it up.

I've read that once it has struggled it the level should be about right.

I've read that it can't use the same oil as the PTU - but Millers oils recommends their same oil for both the gearbox and the PTU.

Any thoughts?

Your owners manual tells you what lubrications to use for the individual drive components. Just find compatible products.

The Gearboxes (auto/manual ) , haldex, PTU and Rear diff all use different lubricants. Jules

Hi,

for a manual box its about £14 to do a complete change if you have not done/know of it being done in the past its a straight forward job to do.

treat it to a complete oil change, which from memory does the ptu as well

Thumbs Up
