As long as the diameter is within reason it's fine.

Ideally all 4 tyres should be replaced at the same time, with swapping front to rear every 3,000 to 5,000 miles to even out the wear.

Im not sure there is a challenge to the tyre company as presumably you went there as you felt they may need changing??

If it was the diff you would hear it start whining around 20mph & get louder as you go faster, my guess they have put budget tyres on. |

Both Chinese. I prefer named brands, which have a reputation to uphold, but that's probably just me. Having said that my Freelander has Chinese tyres on it too, although they were on it when I bought it, and they're not wearing out as fast as I had hoped. ![]() 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Indeed I was led by the garage but I won’t be using them again.

The noise you are hearing in my opinion is coming from the new tyres, cheap tyres are considerably noisier than premium tyres I doubt you have done any damage. But fitting another two same make tyres won’t cure the noise issue. |

Always worth spending a little more money on decent brand tyres IMHO.
