Might I ask if it is at all possible to change the drier within the A/C system on a MY14 2.2 diesel (it is contained within the side tube of the condenser) without having to strip out the front bumper and all associated pipework to the radiator and charge air cooler etc. The reason for asking is that I have a slight line of green A/C fluid at right angles to the compressor clutch, so my assumption is that the main shaft seal on the compressor must be leaking (even though it is only a very small amount). So I will quite soon have to exchange the compressor for a new one.

Hi, sorry to inform you, the drier is integratet in the a/c cooler.
Actually, it's not that bad to change and they are not too expensive.

Getting the a/c compressor out and back in is tricky.
You have to disconnect the lower engine mount and pull/push it back.
The only way is through the right hand wheel arch.

Hi thank you for your reply, hopefully taking the A/C compressor out should not be so bad. I have noted one or two posts on this and other sites regarding the removal, it just looked a lot of work to replace the condenser drier element, which is on the right hand side, held within a tube with you stood at the front looking back at the vehicle. As it stands to replace it I would have to remove the front bumper, remove the cross member and the forced air cooler JUST to get to the A/C condenser, disconnect the A/C lines from the condenser to undo the plug keeping the drier in place then replace the drier unit (the last part would take at the most 5 minutes ! And then reverse what I have just done to put it all back together !!
