Having received a free tag with my new laptop, I experimented with it by tracking my wife whilst out shopping in Abergavenny.

They work by talking to passing Samsung devices via Bluetooth, and display position on a map (on my phone). They are extremely easy to set up using my Samsung mobile.

I have decided to by some more (half price as below) to use as cheap and cheerful tracking devices on things that are used outside my home. (FL2, Keys. Mobility Scooters, etc)

the shame is they rely on .....

1. Samsung only phones

2. Bluetooth being enabled on those Samsung phones.




.....and it doesn't tell you how much Mrs Metro spent ..... sorry SAVED on those must have items.

I had my doubts about how well they would work, given, as you point out, no direct means of GPS or other other position finding abilities.
But, within a minute or so, the tag was found, and its position reported on my phones map.

As I said, its no 'active GPS tracker', but so far it is more than meeting my expectations, for the price.

Be very careful about tracking - some people can REALLY take offense.

Son and his partner been together for over 20 years, they have a 9 year old son, he likes to play Dell boy and really doesn't like people knowing his business - driving instructor so no-one can keep tabs. Anyway She decided to enable tracking on his phone as she is suspicious of everything (real conspiracy theory person), she rang him and said when will you be home, his usual answer is 15 minutes, she then says how if you are 30+ miles away

Penny drops that she was tracking him, he went to their home packed his bags and moved back home with us. They are still "together" 8 years later, he sleeps there most nights, but comes here to change and pick up his post every day.

His phone was in her name, so she could legally enable tracking. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

I am tracking things.

My wife was fully aware and was helping in the experiment.

Mr Microsoft or Mr Google are most likely tracking us all anyway.
