Noisy air con compressor

Hi, I have a really noisy air con compressor, has anyone changed theirs, is it easy to do?

Mine went noisy, just had it changed only took about 2.5 hours but you cannot do the gas side of it yourself unless registered (your not allowed to vent the gas to the atmosphere ).
The only people in my area that would look at it (other than Land Rover) was Tanvic , s&f the compressor and a new aux belt + tax was £873.00 (the compressor is around £550 - 600).

I noticed a strange noise on my 2014 car recently.
Over the past 2 / 3 weeks it's been getting louder - thought at first it was a aux belt idler pulley or similar.
On switching off the A/C it stops, so it's obviously the compressor.
Tempted to buy a used one, and change the bearings in it before fitting - has to be cheaper than what your quoting.
